Lake Nasser
is a huge man made lake located in Southern Egypt. It was created
after a Russian built dam was created on the River Nile at Aswan
in the 1960's and the resulting lake that was created flooded
over 6,200 sq kilometers of the Nile Valley, creating one of
Africa's largest man made lakes. The original fish population
was presented with a huge lake to live in, and have thrived
in their new habitat. Lake Nasser has now established itself
as the best location in Africa, for catching Nile Perch, and
this venue has now produced three 200lb plus fish (excepted
by the IGFA as line class records)..... |
